Summary
This position has full responsibility for all Manufacturing Engineering activities for the factory including machine commissioning, process engineering, process improvements and facility maintenance. The site production is up to 24 hours/day, seven days per week and must run at peak efficiency. The successful candidate will thrive on an environment that is fast paced, full of challenges, enjoys interaction with people and is absolutely outstanding at delivering results and driving operational excellence at all times and in the face of adversity. As a manager of this business, the successful candidate must be quick to act and must be able to create a sense of urgency in others. Fundamental skills include excellent leadership and people influence skill, planning skills, a direct, action-oriented approach to problem solving and impeccable follow-through. This person is a key member of the site staff team and must interface well with upper managers, peers, subordinates, suppliers and customers. It is essential that this person has an inquisitive mind, enjoys all aspects of machines and the operation of machines and has a ‘Quality is King’ mindset.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities
Lead the responsible functions in a fast-paced semi-automated manufacturing environment that runs 24 hrs/day, 7/days per week.
Drive the relevant functions directly to make continuous improvement and operational excellence in every phase of the operation yielding agreed targets on quality, and throughput.
Research, specify and recommend equipment
Take full responsibility for implementation and control of the TPM schedule and timely actions
Ensure ME/PE support all departments with accurate daily/weekly/monthly reporting
Support team to deliver On-time delivery to meet agreed targets.
Aggressively target and reduce all forms of waste and support cost reduction goals by applying best practice & Lean Six Sigma tools.
Working with the QC team provide weekly SPC reports and analysis and drive ME’s to improve
Analyse team and propose appropriate training to bring team up to world class standards
Ensure housekeeping is maintained to high standards following best-in-class 6S systems
Lead, develop & nurture subordinates ensuring effective succession planning.
Instill an aggressive culture, with a desire for urgency and the ability to lead win-win outcomes to issues.
A true self-starter with the ability to work towards goals with little day-to-day supervision.
Ability to develop and challenge direct reports to reach new levels of performance and job satisfaction.
Embrace the ISO quality systems and procedures and lead the culture to quality and performance goals
Develop, analyze and control monthly and annual departmental expense budgets.
Insure superior support to customer service personnel and has the ability to interface well with customers.
Provides leadership and support to all required planning and site meetings.

Preferred Qualifications & Skills
To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skills and/or ability required. Demonstrated working knowledge of ISO9001 & TS 16949 systems. Knowledge of VDA 6.3 an advantage
Minimum 5 years of experience preferably in a high-volume manufacturing environment
Preferred candidates will have at least 3 years of management experience in a leadership role with personnel and budgetary responsibility.
Familiarity with tooling process and knowledgeable in process engineering areas and other automation equipment essential
Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from engineers, managers and customers.
Ability to write reports, business correspondence, evaluations and other similar papers.
Ability to read, analyze, and interpret reports
Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts and draw valid conclusions.
Ability to interpret an extensive variety of production processes and deal with abstract and concrete variables.
Apply quality policy to everyday duties and responsibilities.
Proficiency with MS Excel, MS Word and MS Mail preferred.
Some travel required
Automated and Manual Production line experience
Must enjoy all aspects of production engineering from mould design to manufacturing and from making parts to studying and analysing methods for better quality and faster production
Must be able to read and interpret technical drawings in 2D and 3D formats

Essential Requirements:

Post graduate in Mechanical, Production or Chemical engineering or equivalent experience
6 Sigma Greenbelt or Blackbelt qualified preferred
“Hands-on” personality
Proficient in spoken and written English, and fluent in spoken and written Putonghua
Inherent willingness to work to ‘get the job done” and do it “Right the first time”.
Demonstratable working knowledge using the suite of Lean and 6 Sigma tools
Ability to make PPAP submissions and knowledge of SPC highly desired
